Introducing EFCC Engage

Helping our EFCC churches engage near- and far-reaching mission opportunities and stay in touch with existing opportunities to grow their own mission presence.

At the heart of the Evangelical Free movement, right from its inception, was the local church. It was local churches that had a burden for the town next to them, that sent church planters. It was local churches that had a burden for other parts of their country that commissioned members of their congregation to become evangelists to those areas, holding tent meetings, etc., with the aim of seeing new believers and birthing new churches. It was the local church that laid hands on members of their congregations to send them forth to the ends of the earth to win the lost for Jesus. And it was the local church that ultimately would support and care for those missionaries.

How will EFCC Engage accomplish this?

We’re inviting churches to recruit people to serve right at home as:

1. Care Volunteers

The Care Team is a team of volunteers from EFCC churches committed to care for, pray for, support, and communicate with our local and global EFCC missionaries.

2. Mission Ambassadors

Mission Ambassadors are people who can represent, champion, or be the spokespeople for a particular mission project. They will give updates on their assigned projects through various EFCC channels, apprising others of ways to engage in mission initially unknown to them.

3. Mission Catalysts

These people might be someone who is already a mission committee chair, or someone who wants to see the mission reach of their local church extended beyond what it currently is. These people will be given resources to help them and their local church think strategically about their own mission engagement, locally or internationally.

4. Coordinators

Facilitating collaboration

With the help of the Home Office, Coordinators find, resource, and equip Care Volunteers and Mission Catalysts.

It all starts with the Engagement of the local church. We want to empower our EFCC churches to think, act, and be missional communities that are reaching beyond themselves. That is what EFCC Engage is all about.
