HOME OFFICE TEAM

Serving our Free church family who strive to be steadfast witnesses and practitioners of God’s love on Earth.

Bill Taylor

Executive Director

Bill Taylor serves as the Executive Director of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada, providing visionary leadership and spiritual guidance to the greater EFCC family. He works to ensure that the ethos of the EFCC is in evidence within all of our churches and ministries. Bill is based at the EFCC Home Office in Langley, supporting the team there as it carries out the mission to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel. Even though he is based in Langley, Bill loves to get out of the office and enjoys travelling around Canada to speak. Especially if he can share hotel rooms with Dwight and Neil and their snoring.

Neil Bassingthwaighte

ServeCanada Director & Prayer Catalyst

As the National Mission Director (ServeCanada), Neil coordinates the mission efforts of the EFCC in evangelism, discipleship and church planting across Canada in cooperation with local EFCC churches and other kingdom-minded partner organizations. Neil also provides oversight to the National Mission Leadership Team as they implement new EFCC mission strategies and projects. Neil also functions, unofficially, as the office database of awful jokes.

Ike Agawin

ServeBeyond Director

Ike serves as ServeBeyond Director of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada International Mission. He provides direction, oversight and support to all ServeBeyond ministries to facilitate the implementation of the vision and the fulfillment of the mission of EFCC. The name Ike means ‘He Will Laugh’ and that is an apt description of Ike that the office can attest to.

Cathy de la Rambelje

Director of Finance & Operations

Cathy oversees the management of the day-to-day financial activity within the organization and the development of and tracking against annual budgets. She also acts as the Home Office Manager, responsible for overall organization and coordination of office administration and procedures, office staff supervision and task delegation. Cathy is unique in her ability to withstand the wild personalities in the office as they meet for a weekly meeting she has to lead. Please pray for her.

Dwight Johnson

Stewardship Catalyst

Dwight Johnson serves as the Stewardship Catalyst of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada, working with churches and individuals across the denomination to secure funding to cover the costs of running the denomination and to further its mission. In addition to both capital and now giving, he also works to support and develop activities that generate resources through longer term endowment funding. Dwight is based at the EFCC home office in Langley but travels extensively throughout western Canada where the vast majority of Evangelical Free churches exist. Dwight also supplies the office unsolicited puns in an unnecessary quantity.

terry kaufman

Terry Kaufman

Leadership Catalyst

In his role as Leadership Catalyst, it is both Terry’s role and his passion to work to move leadership forward within all areas of the EFCC — creating environments, opportunities, and resources to help and develop lay leaders, pastoral and ministry leaders, and missionaries. His burden is to create an environment of strong godly leaders who nurture leaders, for today and the future. Terry works out of his home office in Steinbach Manitoba, but in close partnership with the leadership team of the EFCC. As the resident Manitoban and telecommuter, Terry often finds himself at the tail end of an office joke; much to his surprise.

Brad Jarvis

Communications Catalyst & Dept Head

Brad’s job is to foster mutual awareness and to facilitate action across the entire movement. He is always on the lookout for stories, because they are the best way of making human connections. Brad considers it a joy to continually improve our quality and effectiveness — if you have advice, he’s all ears! Brad enjoys torturing the entire office by presenting relevant communication information in the format of a Mind-map.

Kirby Thompson

Executive Assistant

Kirby holds the responsibility for office support services as required by the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and Board committees. In addition to planning the EFCC’s annual conferences, he ensures that EFCC documentation like credentialing and good standing for pastors is kept up-to-date, and he maintains a database of information regarding the entire association of EFCC churches. Without Kirby, the majority of personnel in the office of the Executive Director would be lost in the woods.

Jennifer Humphries

ServeBeyond Administrator

As the ServeBeyond Administrator, Jennifer is responsible for providing administrative support and services to the International Mission Director and Managers. Her position keeps ServeBeyond running through her meticulous organization and upkeep of project documentation, ensuring that we stay compliant with CRA guidelines, and keeping all missionaries informed of policies and procedures. Her hobbies include coffee, more coffee, and wrangling a toddler while taking the minutes during Zoom meetings.

Carl

ServeBeyond Manager of Personnel & Projects

As ServeBeyond Manager of Personnel & Projects (MPP), Carl is responsible for providing strategic oversight to all EFCC international missionary personnel. Through the development, monitoring, and improvement of field strategies and initiatives Carl helps personnel accomplish the mission, goals and values of ServeBeyond. The MPP also ensure each missionary and project is well represented to their support team.

murray horton

Murray Horton

ServeBeyond Manager of Member Care

Murray Horton serves as Manager of Member Care for ServeBeyond along with his wife Maureen. As part of his responsibility for overseeing the care of the missionaries on the field, Murray desires to facilitate strategic working together of sending churches and ServeBeyond to create a healthy environment for supporting our missionaries and accomplishing the goal of reaching the least reached. It takes a team to care for our missionaries which will give them freedom to flourish in their roles!

grace mcivor

Grace McIvor

Communications Coordinator

Grace McIvor is the Communication Coordinator for the EFCC’s communication team. She finds great joy in scheduling and tracking projects that the CommTeam puts together and seeing them come to fruition. As a remote worker, she loves living in Ontario, to the bafflement of the rest of the office.

Mitch Lopez

Webmaster & Social Media Coordinator

Mitch’s primary responsibility is the maintenance and design update of the website. As the Social Media Coordinator, he is responsible for collaborating with the EFCC team to develop relevant social media campaigns. An amateur ornithologist, Mitch’s unicorn is the Snowy Owl. He is forever on the lookout. Until then, he considers his birding life incomplete.

Laura Kehler

Payroll & Benefits Administrator

As the new Payroll & Benefits Administrator, she is now the new office favourite – twice a month. Without Laura, the entire organization would not get paid! She ensures we stay compliant with the government and coordinates the benefits plan not just for the office but for all of the churches and missionaries under the banner of the EFCC. Laura also administrates the GRSP/GTFSA contributions for the EFCC. On top of all that, she still finds the time to shine on stage as her alter ego, actor-self, demands!

Maria Cherry

Donor Relations Clerk

When it comes to checks and balances, Maria has the sharpest eye. As the Donor Relations Clerk, she ensures every donation that comes into the office goes to the correct designation and maintains our database to ensure the integrity of our records. She has a spreadsheet for everything, a passion for reconciling and happily takes on a challenge when it involves finding differences! Her attention to detail and her ability to find the needle in the financial haystack is unmatched. Likewise, her sarcasm and dry wit is second to none, especially considering the bold competition at our weekly staff meetings.

Eunice Kim

Assistant to Director of Finance & Operations

As Assistant to the DFO, Eunice plays an integral role in the Finance Team and is ready to step in wherever needed – as long as there’s something to analyze or reconcile! Her detail-oriented perspective is put to work as she helps with donations, reconciliations, and many different financial reports. Financial data is complex, but you can be sure her astute mind allows her to tackle any difficult task with efficiency and accuracy. Eunice may be the quiet one working away, but don’t be fooled: when it comes to spreadsheets, she “Excels!”

Ruth Leis

Receptionist

The first person you see and the first person you hear in the office is Ruth! As the Receptionist for the EFCC, Ruth provides assistance in a number of crucial ways. She welcomes guests and greets people, co-ordinates front-desk activities, including distributing correspondence, redirecting phone calls, streamlining office activities and offering administrative support for the team. Ruth is unsure if the office is kidding around most of the time, shh don’t tell her.
