Praying for the Leaders of Tomorrow

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” (Luke 10:2) As we move through the summer months, we invite you to join us in praying for the leaders of tomorrow. Pray for those recently elected to serve within the EFCC and for Project: LEAD, which helps fund leadership training and student bursaries. We are grateful for the eight bursaries awarded through the Albert Bergsma Legacy Fund this year and pray for continued support so more students can be equipped for ministry.

Biblical Critical Theory

What does it mean to live a good life? What is the purpose of life? How are we to think? Within our pluralistic culture, we receive numerous answers to these questions from the various social theories around us. But how does Scripture – as a whole – answer these questions? This is exactly the question that Christopher Watkins sets out to answer in his book “Biblical Critical Thory: How the Bible’s Unfolding Story Makes Sense of Modern Life and Culture.

Missionaries in Canada, really?

A far more significant question is: Why??? Dan Byrne, who leads ministries like “Ottawa City Church Network” and “Ottawa Evangelism Partnership” as part of the EFCC ServeCanada initiatives, shares authentic experiences of working with marginalized individuals. He often encounters questions such as, “Am I important to you? or “Do you truly care?” Amidst frequently chaotic ministry environment, he provides insight into his purpose.
