A Legacy of Service
In the EFCC, we have been working to clarify our language.
In the EFCC, we have been working to clarify our language.
We also have related words, like missionary, missional and even missiology.
In Christian circles, ‘missions’ is often shorthand for work which takes people into different countries to share the love of Jesus Christ in new contexts, languages and cultures. There is, of course, more to it than that. It also describes work that individuals and churches do within their own country (or region, or city, or neighbourhood) as well. There is a growing number of ways to do missions, or to be a missionary.
The EFCC is a mission movement. We exist to share Jesus and join Him in His work of transforming lives. A unified family of churches and individuals with Christ-like leaders who live out the Free Church motto as we join His redemptive work in every part of Canada and the world.
We pursue this work as a family who grows together as loving communities of believers who follow the Word and serve Jesus as Lord and Saviour. We engage, encourage, and resource Evangelical Free Churches and individuals to love god entirely, others sacrificially and all peoples redemptively.
