Practical Skills for Navigating Conflict with Clarity and Grace
Strong relationships require skill, especially when conversations become difficult or emotions run high. This one-day seminar offers practical tools for communicating clearly, building trust, and navigating conflict with greater confidence and grace, while helping participants grow personally in how they understand and respond to tension and conflict as followers of Jesus. The training builds a shared language and common approach to conflict that supports healthier relationships, stronger partnership across churches and ministry teams, and a faithful expression of life in God’s kingdom.

In conjunction with Transitional Leadership Network

Since 2002 Hugh has invested in shepherding churches toward health and vitality during their seasons of transition. Congregations from six different denominations in western Canada have invited Hugh to serve as a transitional pastor in over twenty-five congregations. His experience has been cultivated amidst the cultures of both urban and rural church communities and within the complexities of both multi-staff and sole pastoral contexts. For the past nine years Hugh has partnered with the “Transitional Leadership Network” to equip transitional leaders.
In churches suffering the devastation of breakdown, Hugh will typically work on-site with a ‘Renewal Team’ to facilitate healing and recovery. Processes include education in conflict, listening broadly to recreate the narrative of the conflict, workshops to equip individuals in conflict resolution, hosting reconciling conversations, and building resiliency by addressing the vulnerability beneath the surface of the conflict.
