A Message from Shaun Wick

president shaun wick

To my Evangelical Free Church family,

I want to begin by stating how very thankful I am for all of you, and for the overwhelming outpouring of support I have received from you over the past many months, and indeed the past few days. I am truly honored to be elected as President of the EFCC, and I am humbled to be granted this incredible privilege to serve you – our EFCC churches. I shall endeavor to serve with all the strength and wisdom that God provides, to pray for you continually and to lead us to more deeply understand and embody our EFCC ethos, and – most importantly – to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus Christ.

Given that the results of the vote demonstrate the need for ongoing healing among us, I want to emphasise my desire to truly serve you, and build stronger relationships across our association.

I want to express my gratitude for Bill Taylor and his leadership, and for all the leaders who have led us so capably and faithfully over the years. I am excited to work with our current leadership and District Superintendents and look forward to partnering with them as we prayerfully respond to the Lord’s direction for our future, and to the opportunities He brings our way.

I am confident in God’s faithful provision for us as we grow together as a Gospel sharing people and I hope you will join me in looking with prayerful anticipation to what God will do in and through our national family of churches in the coming years. Please pray for me and Julia as I step into this role. I ask that you pray for me – that God might give me courage, and much wisdom.

Thank you for being part of our EFCC family. I look forward to getting to know you better over the next few years, and to see what the Lord will do in and through the EFCC for the glory of His name.

Shaun Wick
EFCC President

Leadership Week 2025

The Ministry Orientation (formerly Pastors’ Orientation), which is part of Leadership Week 2025, was held at the Robert G. Kuhn Centre in the TWU Campus in Langley, BC, last February 19-20, 2025. New pastors and various EFCC church staff from all across Canada got together to explore the organization’s mission, identity, and services. This yearly event offers a welcoming environment to connect with members and personnel of other EFCC churches. There was prayer, fellowship, discussions, and food, not only for the soul but for the body as well.

Central District Update

We hope this update finds you well and experiencing the abundant blessings of God. It has been an incredible season for the Central District of the EFCC, which includes churches from Manitoba and Ontario. We are thrilled to share some of the progress we’ve made, the vision of God has laid on our hearts, and the needs we are currently facing as we seek to expand His kingdom.

Ministry Update

Over the past few months, we have witnessed God moving powerfully in Church Planting. Thank you for participating in the Fair Share Program, and for your support. Much is accomplished through your faithful support. This district has helped struggling member churches. Leadership training has taken place for three consecutive years. Subsidies are made available for pastors to attend Pastoral Orientation and other training and equipping opportunities. Support is provided for the Korean Fellowship. EFCC has assisted two new church plants. We are currently affiliating a new Mandarin Church in Ontario. Guidance and consultation are provided to the board and pastors regarding credentialing, accreditation, and hiring process. Our district has representation on the National Church Vitality Council and cooperates with other districts nationwide to promote and plant healthy churches. New believers have been baptized, lives are being transformed, and a strong foundation of faith is being laid.

Vision for 2025

God is placing exciting opportunities before us. Our district feels particularly called to plant more churches, continue visiting and serving our member churches and training more local leaders. There is great confidence that with His guidance and the faithful support from local churches, these plans will come to fruition.

A Request for Continued Support

To continue and expand this important work, we humbly ask for your continued support. Our next steps require salary support for church planters. Meeting these needs will allow us to reach more communities and disciple new believers.

We are praying that God will prompt you to consider partnering with us financially at this critical juncture. Your monthly donationno matter the sizewill make a meaningful difference and allow us to take the Gospel to those who are waiting to hear it.

Your prayers, encouragement, and generosity have been such a blessing to us, and we are deeply grateful for every contribution made. We are privileged to serve alongside you, and we thank God for your commitment to this ministry. May God richly bless you as you continue to serve Him.

In Christ,

Baptisms & Child Dedication

Late August, the Iranian Church of Richmond Hill gathered for a very special occasion. Permission was granted at a provincial park for a baptismal service. Around 100 people celebrated the event in which over 40 people declared their commitment to Jesus Christ.  The gathering was made extra special with one family presenting their child to the Lord.  This was a good and great day in which Christ was honored.
