Article 1
I am pleased to introduce a new initiative in the EFCC that we are calling Friends in Ministry. I have loved the EFCC since joining back in 2001 and have met so many across our family who share a similar passion for our association. Friends in Ministry is intended to be a direct connection with you, the people of our EFCC churches. We want to engage with those in our local churches who love the EFCC and desire to be more deeply involved, becoming champions on behalf of the EFCC with their congregation! Through Friends in Ministry, you will be able to engage with and support the EFCC in a personal and tangible way.
We see God at work across the EFCC, and our future is bright! Your district and national leadership have been collaborating towards the formation of our 5-year strategic plan for the EFCC. Our 5-year Road Map will focus primarily on 3 key areas:
- our EFCC identity,
- our EFCC family, and
- our EFCC mission.
We intend to increasingly celebrate and champion our EFCC ethos, attracting pastors, leaders, and followers of Jesus who share in our convictions and passion for Jesus and embrace our ethos.
We will strengthen and nurture our EFCC family connections so that we might all benefit from the gift we have been given in each other as districts and churches. Finally, we will renew and cultivate our EFCC missional passion as churches, engaging more deeply and intentionally in our mission to be a gospel-sharing and disciple-making people.
We want to see our EFCC family of churches grow and thrive! In celebrating who we are, strengthening our family connections, and renewing our passion to reach people with the Gospel, we want to see many come to know Jesus and to welcome orphaned churches throughout Canada that are looking for a denominational home. The EFCC is a diverse and charitable family uniquely primed to see many churches join us in the coming years – churches that love Jesus and want to see their communities transformed by the Gospel. Churches that will celebrate with us our EFCC ethos: In essentials, unity. In non-essentials, charity. In all things, Jesus Christ!
If that speaks to you, and you’d like a way to get a better view of who the EFCC is, and what we’re up to together, we encourage you to join our growing group of Friends in Ministry [go to page].
