EFCC Executive Director candidate Shaun Wick

Greetings EFCC Family!

I am excited to announce that the search for a new EFCC leader candidate has reached a positive conclusion.

The Search Committee and the EFCC Board of Directors have unanimously approved and called Shaun Wick (pictured here with wife Julia) to be the candidate for EFCC Executive Director. He will be presented to delegates at our 2025 Annual General Meeting, to be held during EFCC Theology Conference on May 8, 2025, in Leduc, Alberta.

Shaun is currently serving as Senior Pastor at The Gospel Chapel Evangelical Free Church in Vanderhoof, BC, where has has faithfully served for over 23 years. Until recently, he was also serving as EFCC Board of Directors Chair. Since Shaun is being presented by the Board of Directors as the candidate for EFCC Executive Director, he has willingly stepped down from serving on the Board of Directors. As per our constitution, I have now stepped into the role of Interim Board Chair.

We are very excited about God’s clear leading towards Shaun as he knows and deeply loves the EFCC. He is a courageous and gracious leader and brings a wealth of experience. He has served in many capacities in leadership in the EFCC over the years, including the Board of Directors, Governance Committee, Finance & Audit Committee, and Canadian Pacific District Board, among other roles in the past. As one Board member said, Shaun comes “preloaded” for this role and understands the position well, having worked alongside Bill Taylor (current EFCC Executive Director) for several years as Board Chair. He and Julia have strongly felt the Lord’s leading throughout this process. Shaun shares a compelling vision for the future of the EFCC, and a strong commitment to Prayer, our Ethos, and EFCC Community.

Shaun is humble, a good listener, discerning, and dedicated. Most importantly, he passionately loves Jesus Christ and His church.

Should the EFCC Conference affirm Shaun in the role of EFCC Executive Director, he and Bill Taylor will work together, with the stellar EFCC Home Office team, to ensure a smooth transition at the Home Office located inside the TWU Campus in Langley, BC. We anticipate the start of Shaun’s new role as EFCC Executive Director to commence late August or early September 2025.

Please be in prayer for Shaun and Julia as they journey the road ahead. Please also pray for the Board of Directors as it works toward a flourishing and exciting future for the EFCC. Above all, let us all pray for one another in this transition.

We are thankful and anticipate God will do great things in the days ahead in and through the EFCC. We invite you to join us for the EFCC Theology Conference at Leduc, AB, on May 8-9, 2025.

Blessings,
