Personal Journey | Murray was raised in Victoria, BC in a home where God was honoured. It was while Murray’s mother was very sick with cancer that he made a profession of faith as a nine-year-old boy. After his mom’s passing four years later, that profession took on a whole new meaning causing him to take his faith seriously and grow spiritually. Maureen was also raised in Victoria in a home where the Lord was honoured. As she grew up and entered the nursing profession it was with the desire to use that skill to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Murray and Maureen married in 1982 in Victoria where Murray worked as a mechanic and Maureen as a registered nurse. They moved to Three Hills, Alberta in 1989 to attend Prairie Bible College. Since that time, Murray has spent time as a pastor at Mount Olive EFC in Three Hills and together they served in Albania, Eastern Europe ministering in church planting and organizational leadership.
Current Ministry | Murray works as Manager of Member Care for ServeBeyond, and together with his wife Maureen, facilitates the care of the missionaries who minister around the world. He believes member care is a team effort when it comes to effectively supporting our missionaries. Murray’s desire is to promote a healthy working together of both the sending churches and ServeBeyond in order to enhance the care of the missionaries. He sees member care as a continuum that begins from the time interest is expressed in ministering with ServeBeyond until retirement.
